I re-watched the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear today. Yeah, it had some slow spots, but on the whole it was impressive. Yusuf's performance (even though it was broken up by Ozzy Osbourne's performance) was the highlight for me, not counting Jon Stewart's final monologue. How they kept that line-up of artists a secret amazed me. They had to rehearse, right? Thank goodness no one leaked the list. It made for a very enjoyable and surprising three hours.
Our news media is a farce these days. Local news isn't bad, but national?? Are you kidding? You can't even watch the 30-minute evening news without some scare tactic. Lighting ants on fire, indeed. It's embarrassing to know this is apparently what the majority of people in this country prefer. Makes me want to move out of the country. Do Americans living in Europe have to pay the same taxes as Europeans? If not, maybe I can go there.
I've got to get this desk put together. Right now the computer is on a card table. According to the instructions I'm not too far from putting it all together, but I'm going to need a drill to drill through some holes in the top. I just HAD to have the hutch.
